get the page order right
before the call.

A fax may arrive as a printed stack or a PDF in an inbox. Clear page order helps the recipient follow the document without guessing how its pieces fit together.

How the order is decided

Files are merged in the order you add them, and the pages inside each file keep their own order. A cover sheet, when you include one, becomes the first page. So the fastest way to get the order right is to add the files in the right sequence in the first place.

Fix it in the composer

Before anything is dialled, faxB2B shows every page. There you can drag a page to a new position, rotate it in quarter turns, and remove a page you do not want to send. You can also add typed text or a drawn signature to a page. Nothing is sent until you confirm.

A four-point check

  1. First page. Cover sheet, or the page the recipient expects?
  2. Orientation. Every page upright; a landscape table is fine, a sideways portrait page is not.
  3. Completeness. Back sides of double-sided pages present, no page sent twice.
  4. Page count. The number on the cover sheet matches the number in the preview, cover sheet included.

What recipients complain about

Common mistakes to check for include a missing back page, a signature page separated from its agreement, a sideways page and a page count that does not match the received document. All four are caught by the check above.

If the order is already wrong

You cannot change a fax that has gone out. Send a short second fax with a cover sheet that says which pages are replaced, rather than resending the whole document and leaving the recipient to work out which stack is current. Our guide on resending covers the mechanics.

Questions

Can I rotate just one page?
Yes. Rotation is per page, in quarter turns.
Can I insert a page in the middle?
Add the file, then drag its pages into position before you confirm.
Is there a limit on pages I can reorder?
The fax itself is limited to 20 pages; within that you can arrange them freely.
