Is it really free?

Yes. The tools are free with no watermark. They are here because people who need a PDF often need to fax it next.

What happens to my files?

Nothing leaves your device. The PDF is built by your browser with the open-source pdf-lib library; our server never receives the file.

Can I convert Word or Excel files?

Not here — browsers cannot render those formats reliably. Export them to PDF from Word or Excel first, then merge or fax them.

Why did compression barely change my file?

Browser compression rewrites the PDF structure and removes metadata. It cannot re-encode scanned images, which are most of the size of a scanned PDF.
